This is the data submitted in 2003 based on 1998 to 2002 statistics

 

On this page you will find all the information you need to access and work with the 2003 Category Survey results. 
 

The Questions - the 10 questions used to determine Category

(in excel format) - lists all the churches that submitted reports (580) and the churches whose DS submitted for them a Category designation without the actual survey being done (72.) There were about 90 churches which did not submit a survey and are not in the table at all.

are in these categories.
   
   
Here are three ways of examining the Category Scores submitted by the churches of the Conference.
  
1. The Distribution – presentations of the names of churches and/or numbers of churches which scored at each level from 10 to 50 correlated with change in average worship attendance from 2002 to 2003.

Table 2 lists names of churches at each score level (secondary sort by district then by church), their average worship attendance for 2002 and 2003 with the numeric and percentage change calculated and displayed.

The number of Churches and Missions was drawn from the 2003 Appointment Book. 

 87.8% (652 of 743) of the churches were entered in the table.

There were 91 (743 – 652) who submitted no survey and were not entered in the Table.

Categories were assigned by their DS’s to 72 churches who submitted no survey.                    

The Director's Refinement total (652) includes the 72 (72 + 580) churches entered with no survey information.

The Director Of New Church Development determined that of the 56 churches he supervises 6 were
            Reproducing and 30 were Beginning.     

 

The Directors’ Refinement above was generated using the raw Survey data, DS submissions for some churches that submitted no Survey, the Congregation’s own perceptions of their category, and the Directors’ judgment.. Categories resulting from the Surveys were occasionally modified for the Table by the Directors
