United
Methodist Men announce new retreat speaker
Dr. Arnold Prater, a United Methodist
elder and evangelist who was scheduled to speak at the Florida
Conference United Methodist Men’s Couples’ Retreat March 2-4,
recently announced his retirement as a retreat speaker.
Prater has been a featured speaker at
53 UMM events in Florida since 1969.
The Rev. Clark Pickett, pastor of

Prater as a principal speaker at the retreat. Pickett joins the Rev.
Roger Watts, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Coral Springs,
and the Rev. John Hope, senior chaplain of the Wakulla Correctional
Institution in Crawfordville, Fla., as speakers for the weekend.
Reservations are still available for
the Couples’ Retreat. For more information visit the UMM’s Web
site at http://www.flconfumm.org
or call Jerry Bennett, secretary of the Florida Conference United
Methodist Men, at 813-685-2745.
