Credit Union offers three new services

The Florida United Methodist Credit Union announced three new programs during its annual meeting May 31, according to Joan Beierle, the credit union’s president.

A new Voice Response System was introduced to allow members to make transfers between accounts, withdrawal requests, check reorders, and check clearing and balance inquiries by touch-tone telephone. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a local and nationwide toll-free telephone number.

The credit union is also offering three new Money Market Accounts, which are variable-rate accounts with limited check writing privileges. These accounts earn dividends based on the daily balance in the account and are paid into the accounts monthly. Rates are set by the board of directors and may change monthly.

The credit union will be implementing a student loan program to make Federal Stafford Loans for students and Federal PLUS loans available to members. Stafford loans are borrowed by students. PLUS loans are for parents and/or stepparents who are paying for a child’s education.

For more information, please contact the credit union offices at 863-688-5563, extension 145; toll-free from anywhere in Florida at 1-800-282-8011, extension 145; or Florida United Methodist Credit Union, P.O. Box 3767, Lakeland, FL 33802-3767.
