Igniting Ministry offers Toolkit
1-2-3
United Methodist Communications (UMCom) is
taking orders for its new subscription service Toolkit 1-2-3, a
supplement to the Igniting Ministry Planning Kit that keeps churches
updated with resources and materials.
Toolkit 1-2-3 offers resources three times a
year, coordinated with air times of the national television
commercials.
Each issue includes worship, welcoming and media
presence planning information. Worship tools for each Sunday during
the advertising flight include sermon outlines, calls to worship,
litanies, hymns, songs and movie clip suggestions. Media tools include
practical tips on implementing the advertising in your local
community.
Each kit includes SpiritFilmsÆ, three- to
four-minute videos that reflect and highlight a gospel theme for use
in worship, fellowship groups and Bible study.
A subscription to Toolkit 1-2-3 is $64.95 for
registered Planning Kit owners and $74.95 a year for churches that do
not own a Planning Kit. Subscriptions are available through Dec. 31.
For more information, call the Igniting Ministry Product Store at

Bethune-Cookman invites student
adoption
Bethune-Cookman College (B-CC), a United
Methodist-related college in Daytona Beach, invites United Methodist
clergy and laity to considering adopting foreign students during
breaks in the academic school year. B-CC currently has students from
Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean.
“Many of these students have no place to go
and must be out of their dorms during these break times,” said
Cecily Crossman, a member of the college’s Lay/Clergy Advisory
Board. “This would be a wonderful opportunity to get to know a young
person from a different part of the world and to introduce students to
a warm, loving American Christian home.”
Opportunities are now available to house
students during the Christmas break, Dec. 17-Jan. 2, and Spring Break,
March 4-8. For more information, contact Eugene Phillips, B-CC’s
vice president for development, at 904-253-4508.
