ORLANDO
— Douglas Dannen,
a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Orlando, was
recently appointed to the board of trustees of the United Methodist
Higher Education Foundation. Dannen has served St. Luke’s as a
trustee, chairman of the Master Planning and Finance committees, and
lay leader. He heads 3D Management Services in Orlando, a real estate
and restaurant consulting company. The United Methodist Higher
Education Foundation is a national organization that devotes assets of
$40 million to scholarships and other means of educational advancement
at 124 United Methodist-affiliated institutions across the country.
ST. PETERSBURG — The
Rev. Dr. Glenn L. Quam,
a retired elder in the Florida Conference, was appointed development
associate for the Florida area by Garrett Evangelical Theological
Seminary in Evanston, Ill. Quam served the Florida Conference for 17
as pastor of churches in Vero Beach, St. Petersburg, Casselberry and
Lehigh Acres. He was also the founding pastor of Suntree United
Methodist Church in Melbourne. Quam’s new responsibilities include
keeping Garrett-Evangelical alumni and friends informed about the
seminary’s mission and challenges and roles alumni and friends can
play in helping the school. Quam will also help the school enhance its
curriculum and learning opportunities by soliciting feedback from
church leaders.
