Conferences, tours celebrate Wesley
Two tour organizations and a seminary are
planning special events and tour opportunities in celebration of the
300th anniversary of the birth of John Wesley, founder of the
Methodist movement.
Emory University’s Candler School of Theology is holding a
conference Jan. 6-8 in Atlanta called “Celebrating and
Revisioning the Wesleyan Movement.” Pastors, laity and academics
are invited to examine and reflect on the movement and envision future
directions for ministry. The cost is $175 before Dec. 13 and $200

Congress on Evangelism heads to the
beach
The 2003 Congress on Evangelism is Jan. 6-9 in
Myrtle Beach, S.C. This year’s event is titled “Revisiting the
Wesleyan Vision: 2003” and is sponsored by the Council on Evangelism
and the General Board of Discipleship.
The Rev. Dr. James C. Logan, who recently
retired as E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Wesley
Theological Seminary, is the Denman Lecturer and will speak on “The
Practice of Evangelism in the Wesleyan Perspective.”
Workshops include a contemporary perspective on
evangelism, exploring the Bible, preaching for 21st century people,
equipping the laity and planting new churches. There are also
workshops specifically designed for youth.
Registration is $125 per person or $150 per
couple. Lodging starts at $40 per night. For more information contact
