Correction: Health Fair Screenings

A notice about preregistering for health screenings offered at the 2003 Florida Annual Conference Event Health Fair was printed in the Feb. 28 issue of the Florida United Methodist Review.

It was stated that a number of free screenings will be offered, but it was not made clear the tests requiring preregistration are not free. Those tests include:

  • CAT SCAN 2000 will provide a heart, lung and abdominal-pelvic scan. Call 877-828-7475 for information, COST and to register.

  • FIRST LINK MEDICAL will offer blood testing for complete profiles, diabetes, hepatitis (A, B and C), allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, estrogen levels, and diseases affecting the prostate, thyroid, heart, liver, ovaries and others. Call 866-302-5663 for information, COST and to register.

  • LIFE LINE SCREENING will offer ultrasound screenings for detection of stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery disease and osteoporosis. Call 800-407-4557 for information, COST and to register.

Screenings will be offered May 29, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and May 30, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the ministry expo area located in the exhibit hall of the Lakeland Center and in health provider vans parked at the rear of the Lakeland Center.

For more information, contact Ginny Pearcy at 386-574-1391.

The Florida United Methodist Review staff apologizes for omitting that there is a cost associated with the tests requiring preregistration and any inconvenience it may have caused.
