Worship, spiritual resources offered for wartime

The United Methodist Board of Discipleship’s worship Web site features worship and music resources to assist congregations planning worship and prayer services related to war in the Middle East. The site also includes resources in recognition and support of the deployment of U.S. forces.

Visit the board’s home page at http://www.umcworship.org  and click on “Resources In a Time of War or Other National Crisis” in the left column. Included are a service of prayer and meditation, order of service for men and women mobilized or deployed, prayer for peace, resources for worship, a prayer for protection of those in military service and related links.

The United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry lists resources on its site at http://www.gbhem.org

UMC.org, the denominational Web site run by United Methodist Communications at http://www.umc.org, is offerings visitors an opportunity to submit their online prayer requests and access leadership, worship and prayer resources; information about the ministry of chaplains during times of peace and war; and answers to questions regarding denominational statements about war. UMC.org will also post denominational news releases related to the war.
