Festival expands into Florida
The Cornerstone Festival, a cutting-edge
Christian music festival that has attracted thousands to its Illinois
location over the past 20 years, is expanding into Orlando. The event
will feature more than 50 bands on four stages at the Central Florida
Fairgrounds May 9-10.
In addition to the bands, Cornerstone will
provide seminars on music and ministry, dating and sex, and other
topics; a film discussion group; and art activities.

Ohio center offers summer work mission
projects
The Epworth Center in Bethesda, Ohio, has a
number of openings in its summer schedule of SOWER work mission
projects. The projects focus on area people who cannot afford to make
their own home repairs and churches with building needs.
The cost for a five-day work camp is $220 per
person, plus approximately $1,500 for building supplies for a group of

Event challenges youth to reach
Youth2003, a global gathering for United
Methodist Youth, will challenge participants to “Reach Higher,
Deeper, Further.” The event is sponsored by the United Methodist
Board of Discipleship and takes place at the University of Tennessee
in Knoxville July 23-27.
The event is designed for youth ages 12-18 and
their adult leaders. Bishops Violet Fisher of the New York West Area
and Mary Ann Swenson of the Los Angeles Area will partner with
participants in Bible study. Other speakers include Duffy Robbins,
chairman of the Youth Ministry Program at Pennsylvania’s Eastern
College, and the Rev. Grace Imathiu, a Kenyan-born pastor.
The cost is $360 prior to May 1 and $375 after.
The fee includes four nights’ lodging, meals and transportation from

UMVIM kicks off young adult program
with Bahamas project
The Southeastern Jurisdiction of United
Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) will officially launch its
Young Adult in Mission (YAM) program this spring.
The program’s first official opportunity is a
construction project at the Methodist Habitat Children’s Camp in
Eleuthra Island, Bahamas. In addition to this project, young adults
can become mission interns or lead young adult teams. Mission interns
serve individually for six weeks, and young adult team leaders
organize teams of young adults to serve on a project for a shorter
period of time.
