asks, “Got kids?”
For the first time ever the annual United
Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) Rally in Lake Junaluska, N.C.,
will include a concurrent children’s program. The Rally is July 3-6.
Young United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (YUMVIM)
is for children age four years through fifth grade and gives kids
hands-on experience in mission through various opportunities,
including assembling UMCOR disaster relief kits, performing community
service and producing a drama for the adults.
Registration is $20 for the first participant
and $15 for each additional family member. Parents can register their

Music and worship arts plans
convocation
The theme for the July 10-15 biennial national
convocation of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and
Worship Arts in Dearborn, Mich., is “Nurturing the Roots–Growing
the Future.”
The fellowship is a national organization of
worship planners and leaders, musicians, music directors, pastors,
dancers, storytellers, actors and other liturgical artists. Though its
membership is mostly United Methodist, all denominations are welcome.
Many of the worship services, workshops and
class sessions will explore issues related to the church in
transition.

School of Christian Mission opens its
doors
The 2003 School of Christian Mission is July
21-25 (week school) and July 25-27 (weekend school) at Eckerd College
in St. Petersburg. Its theme is “Journey in Hope.”
The school accepts men, women, children and
youth who want to learn and grow through study. There will be three
age groups for children, plus child care for small children.
This year’s three studies focus on Exodus and
include The Journey to Freedom, Creating Interfaith Community and
Mexico.
There will be opportunities for clergy and laity
to share in Biblical reflection, creative endeavors, fellowship,
leadership development and worship.

Book celebrates birth of John Wesley
United Methodist Review Communications has
created a resource to celebrate the 300th anniversary of John Wesley’s
birth.
JW300 is a collectible publication containing
