National Children’s Ministry Workshop arrives in Orlando

Children’s Ministry Magazine Live Workshop will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Orlando, Oct. 25, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Themed “Unshakable Faith,” the workshop focuses on how to help children develop a solid foundation that will help them withstand social pressures.

The workshop offers five hours of hands-on training for anyone who works with children from nursery-age through sixth grade in church or a Christian school.

Full-day registration is $49 per person or $29 per person for groups of 10 or more.

Hunger resource revised for churches’ use

Bread for the World Institute, an international research organization, has updated its edition of a major hunger resource. The kit includes a six-session leader’s guide for use with adult and youth discussions, handouts for each session and a poster. A new Web site, http://www.hungernomore.org, provides additional resources and updates.

Camp on down

If you’re looking for something to do Labor Day weekend, look no further than the Leesburg Retreat Center. It will be the site of the 30th anniversary of Family Camp, Aug. 29-Sept. 1.

The weekend’s activities include devotionals, swimming, games, worship services and other events.

Saturday’s breakfast is $1.50 per person with a maximum of $5 per family. A $5 registration fee will be waived for first-time campers.
