Igniting Ministry offers “Second Step” training

Churches that want to take their Igniting Ministry campaigns to the next level should plan to attend the “Second Step” Igniting Ministry Regional Training Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at University Carillon United Methodist Church in Oviedo.

The event is sponsored by United Methodist Communications in Nashville in cooperation with Florida United Methodist Communications. Churches from throughout the Florida Conference and Southeastern Jurisdiction are invited.

The workshop will present additional ideas about building a welcoming lifestyle in a church. There will be success stories from churches around the country and opportunities to learn more about welcoming, media, inviting and discipling and hear from other churches about what they’ve done to implement Igniting Ministry.

There will be an Igniting Ministry overview from 9 to 10 a.m. for those who have not been to a training or want a refresher.

The cost is $90 per congregation. Lunch is $5 per person. The registration deadline is Nov. 10.

Igniting Ministry is the denomination’s four-year media campaign, now is in its third year. Igniting Ministry provides tools for churches to improve their visibility in their communities and strengthen their hospitality and disciple making ministries.
