Lay Speakers hold annual event

The fourth annual Lay Speaking Ministry event is Aug. 8-13 at the Life Enrichment Center in Leesburg. The event is open to all local church and certified lay speakers.

Featured presenters include Dr. Elston Perry, pastor of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, who will speak on the history of Black Methodism; Elaine Kyle, who will address sharing Jesus across cultures; and Kathy Bordin, who will discuss discovering spiritual gifts through "Network."

Older adult conference focuses on wholeness

Older adults and workers with older adults are invited to attend the Conference on Older Adult Ministries Aug. 14-17 at Lake Junaluska. The conference will focus on the theme "And You Shall Be Made Whole" and offers opportunities for fellowship, Bible study and a choice of two from 11 workshops covering topics from service to spirituality.
