Florida Southern nears aggressive fund-raising goal

In the third year of its five-year, $50 million Comprehensive Campaign, Florida Southern College (FSC) has already raised $42 million, according to the college’s Office of Public Relations. The fund-raising campaign is the most ambitious in the college’s 114-year history.

Among the largest donations is a $7.6 million gift from an anonymous friend of the college and cornerstone gifts totaling more than $11 million from Publix Supermarkets Charities Inc. and the William M. and Nina B. Hollis Foundation.

“The $50 million Comprehensive Campaign addresses the college’s most pressing challenges,” Shari Szabo, director of the Office of Public Relations, said in a press release.

Campaign organizers hope to raise $24.4 million for capital projects, $13.5 million for endowment needs, $2.5 million for new technology and $9.6 million for the college’s Annual Fund for ongoing operations.
