Rev. Harold K. Bowen
The Rev. Harold K. Bowen died June 11. He served the United Methodist
Church for 16 years prior to his retirement in 1985 in appointments in Jacksonville and
Naples. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Spanish Civil
War, World War II and Korean conflict.Rosamond Voss
Rosamond Voss, the widow of the Rev. Charles Voss, died Sept. 7 at the
age of 92.
Rev. Miles J. DePagter
The Rev. Miles J. DePagter died Sept. 8 at the age of 86. He served the
United Methodist Church for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1976. He was pastor of
Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, general director of the Sarasota YMCA, a
lieutenant commander and chaplain in the United States Navy, and a prison chaplain in Ft.
Lauderdale.
Elsie Medzarentz
Elsie Medzarentz died Sept. 24. She is survived by her husband, the
Rev. Haig Medzarentz, a retired pastor serving St. Catherine and Webster United Methodist
Churches in the Leesburg area.
Rev. Jesse E. Waller
The Rev. Jesse E. Waller, 85, died Nov. 22. He retired in 1978 after 40
years of service to the United Methodist Church in appointments at churches in Miami,
Kissimmee, Winter Garden, Clearwater, Sarasota and Hollywood and as district
superintendent in Orlando and Jacksonville.
Waller was a charter member of the Florida United Methodist Foundation board of
directors, president and member of the Florida United Methodist Childrens Home board
of trustees, and a charter board member for the Methodist Hospital in Jacksonville.
One of his two sons, the Rev. David T. Waller, is vice president of financial
development for the Florida United Methodist Childrens Home.
