Jean Hamilton Charlesworth

Jean Charlesworth died Aug. 19 in Pensacola at the age of 95. She was the widow of the late Dr. Arthur R. Charlesworth, a professor at Bethune-Cookman College, and a member of Ferry Pass United Methodist Church in Pensacola. She served as a librarian at the Duke Divinity School.


Rev. Bryce W. Nichols

The Rev. Bryce W. Nichols died Sept. 26 in Stuart. At the time of his retirement in 1979, Nichols had served the United Methodist Church for 36 years and the Florida Conference for six years. He was the founding pastor of Boca West Community United Methodist Church in Boca Raton and former director of Goodwill Industries Special Services in Orlando. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Clark of Stuart.


Ruth O’Steen

Ruth O’Steen, the widow of the Rev. Thomas C. O’Steen, who retired in 1988 after 41 years of service to the United Methodist Church, died Oct. 5 in California. She was 95 years old and is survived by her son, the Rev. Larry O’Steen of Stuart.


Gladys Hill Waller

Gladys Hill Waller died Oct. 13 in Macon, GA. She was the wife of the Rev. Jesse E. Waller, a member of the Florida Conference living in Macon, and mother of the Rev. David Waller, vice president for Financial Development at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.


Michael B. Pedigo

Michael B. Pedigo, the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Richard Pedigo of Green Cove Springs, died Oct. 24 at the age of 41. A memorial fund has been set up in his memory at First Union Bank, account number 1010003762826.
