The Rev. Harry Parham

The Rev. Harry Parham, 81, a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Dec. 1. During his 29 years of service to the Methodist Church, Parham served as pastor in Lake Placid, Naples, Miami and Daytona Beach and legal advisor to the Sarasota District.

Parham was a circuit court judge at the Manatee County Courthouse from 1973 until his retirement in 1984. Parham also served in World War II and earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for leading his company up Omaha Beach in the invasion of Normandy.


The Rev. W.E. Rowell

The Rev. W. E. Rowell, a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Dec. 2. Rowell served the Methodist Church for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1977. He served churches in Florida City, Oakland Park, Miami, Silver Palm, Stuart, Delray Beach, Clermont, Jacksonville, Bradenton, Canal Point, Alturas and Davenport.


The Rev. E. Pierce Hendry

The Rev. E. Pierce Hendry, a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Dec. 26. Hendry served the Methodist Church for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1977. He served churches in Boca Grande, Lakeland, Ft. Myers, Manatee, Largo, Jacksonville, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Plant City and Highland City.


The Rev. Hoyt Tatum

The Rev. Hoyt Tatum, 90, died Dec. 31 of heart failure. Tatum served the Methodist Church for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1976. He served churches in Naples, Boca Grande, Plametto, Avon Park, Ft. Lauderdale, Palatka, Leesburg, Bradenton, Orlando and Plant City. He also served as superintendent of the St. Petersburg and Miami districts.
