Ministers invited to vital church training

The Southeastern Jurisdiction’s (SEJ) 2002 Minister’s Conference will focus on the minister’s roles in a vital church. The “Vital Church — Teaching and Preaching” conference is July 8-12 at Luke Junaluska, N.C. Clergy and spouses from throughout the SEJ are invited.

Bishops William Morris, Charlene Kammerer, Michael Watson and Larry Goodpastor will preach. The featured speaker is the Rev. Dr. William Willimon, dean of the chapel and professor of Christian ministry at Duke University.

Workshops focus on a view from the pew, teaching and preaching in a multi-ethnic world, using technology, how the church relates to the world, and other topics.

Continuing education credits and scholarships for first-time participants are available. For more information, contact the SEJ at 1-888-525-3583, extension 3.
