LAKELAND — Dr. R. Frank Johnson, chairman of the Florida Southern
College (FSC) humanities division and former dean of the Florida
Conference License to Preach School, was named the 2002 winner of the
John Wesley Church Relations Award.
The annual award is given by FSC to the clergy,
layperson, faculty or staff member who has enthusiastically worked to
strengthen the bond between the college and the United Methodist
Church.
Johnson was cited for his 30 years as a
professor in the department of religion and philosophy and his 23
years leading the conference’s two-week training program for local
pastors.
