Weekend offers spiritual time for youth

Mid- and senior-high youth groups are invited to attend the "CrossTrainers ’99" Spiritual Life Retreat Nov. 19-21 at the Warren W. Willis camp and Life Enrichment Center in Leesburg. The event is designed to help youth learn to be Godly in every aspect of their lives.

It will include worship opportunities with T.J. Foltz, a youth pastor from Pennsylvania and adjunct professor at Eastern College, and "craig and jake LIVE," a two-person drama and comedy team.

Adult volunteers are needed. The cost is $85 per person; the registration deadline is Nov. 15. For more information, contact Emily Harris at 1-800-282-8011, extension 139, or EHarris@flumc.org.

Fund-raising workshop offers help with grants

The first of three workshops to help community outreach ministries identify and obtain funding is Dec. 10, 1-8 p.m., on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade Community College. The event is cosponsored by Miami Urban Ministries, Kellogg Family Foundations Project, Miami Dade Community College and others.

The half-day "Grantwriting—With a Purpose!" seminar is designed for groups that are working to meet the human service needs of their community, especially small or faith-based organizations, churches, and neighborhood or grassroots organizations.

For more information, contact the Rev. Carol Hoffman-Guzman at 305-237-3890, or guzhoff@bellsouth.net.
