Floridians
make connection in Africa
Three
members of the Florida Conference traveled to Muxungue, Mozambique, Africa, last month to
visit the future site of the Bishop Cornelius L. and Dorothye Henderson Secondary School
and explore a relationship between the Florida and Mozambique conferences.
The school is one way the Florida Conference can help the Mozambicans
deal with an overwhelming number of children left orphaned by 30 years of war and rampant
malaria and AIDS, according to the Rev. Larry Rankin, director of the Florida Conference

Condemned sanctuary blesses
church
For more than 29 months, the congregation at
Fulford United Methodist Church here has been worshipping in its fellowship hall and
chapel because the sanctuary was declared unsafe. But the Rev. Steve Hoffman, the church's
pastor, says the blessings have outweighed the inconvenience of not having the church's
central building.
While total worship has decreased, the number of new people the church
is attracting has increased. The church has also developed a new worship style to adapt to
worshipping in the fellowship hall. Full Story
