Eaglin, director of Youth Services for the National Crime Prevention Council in Washington, D.C., and a panelist for the May 18 teleconference “Kids, Guns, Violence: Making a Difference.” Everyday phrases like “taking a shot” at something or riding in the “shotgun seat” reflect a casual attitude toward violence that is affecting children, he said. The women listed were invited to a series of teas that have sparked their interest in the United Methodist Women (UMW). And now, there are new UMW groups of younger women at the church.
