Emotions run high on e-mail
Like many things, Internet e-mail has its
advantages and disadvantages. On the down side, it took the "Love Bug" computer

MIMS Thirty-one volunteers don
emergency vests and hard hats at a recent Community Emergency Response Team training at
Mims United Methodist
Church here. The seven-week course was led by Brevard County Emergency Management staff
who trained participants in light search and rescue,
medical triage, dealing with the psychological factors created by a disaster, and basic
emergency skills, including how to stop bleeding, stabilize broken bones and move victims.
A disaster is any situation where the needs outweigh the resources available,
said the Rev. David Harris, pastor of the church. This kind of training may be
something you use while driving down the freeway some day.

Long-time United Methodist
still helping children
In life Faye Gordon made an

still having a positive effect on children through "Faye's Place," a
transitional home for abused women and children that is a ministry of the church.
